The answer: nothing.
There is nothing we can really do. No matter what we do, it will only be a quick "fix" for the next game or operating system, or software.
MY recommendations for the up and coming year.
- Make sure that the games that are coming out have a trend before thinking about upgrading. Meaning, if all of the games coming out have DX10 capabilities that require it to blow the game out of the water as Bioshock and Crysis were supposed to have.
- Determine the age of the components you have now. Most games now, to get the best bang for your buck, need components that are approx no older than 1.5yrs old. If so, you made need to start thinking about upgrading.
- Never let a friend pressure you into upgrading needlessly. Just cause your stupid little buddy with no concept of cash and savings upgrades every other day should not mean that you need to. It is unproductive and expensive.
- Always look at the deals. There are some deals that are worth waiting for. The idea is to get your best bang for your buck. Remember that.
Merry Christmas.
